Inspired by The New Forest

My work has been inspired by the New Forest, once a royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror. Unspoilt woodland, heathland and river valleys provide a environment for  deer, ponies and cattle  to roam free in its ancient heaths and woodland.

The horses that feature in my work are, of course, the native breed of New Forest ponies.

The doves are mine though they are free flying.  I started with a dozen and now have at least two hundred.

Etching is a lengthy process involving many different stages but sitting before a piece of paper with some paint is much simpler but no easier.  It is an unforgiving medium, perhaps the most difficult of the three I work in.
